Our Story

Founded in November 2017, the E. David and Linda C. Ballard Family Foundation is a private family foundation established by Dr. E. David Ballard II and Linda A. Cunningham-Ballard.

Linda and David have been blessed to come from families who not only valued education but also gave them the emotional and financial support to succeed in the areas of public relations and medicine.  Being obedient to the biblical command: “Freely you have received, therefore freely give,” the Ballard Family goal is to be a channel of blessings to those less fortunate.

The Ballard philanthropic journey began in 2007, when they partnered with the San Diego Foundation to support students who had been in the foster care system and wanted to go college.  Over a 10-year period, they provided assistance to 48 students who received a total of $55,000 over that time period, with an average grant of approximately $1,100 per student.

In 2018, the Ballard Family partnered with the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta to create the E. David and Linda C. Ballard Family Scholarship.  This scholarship was established to provide support to junior and senior college students in the metro Atlanta area whose unmet financial needs put them at risk for temporarily discontinuing their studies or dropping out of school. 

The Ballard Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit private foundation whose primary mission is to make a difference in the lives of others and to provide financial support to individuals and/or public charities which support individuals in need.  David and Linda strongly believe in the concept of “paying it forward” and hope, through the foundations efforts and the lives they touch, that a new group of “pay it forward” champions will arise to continue the cycle of being a blessing to others.
